New things

I have been trying lots of new things lately.

Parks

Our town has a lot of fun parks in it. Mommy decided that it would be fun to try to visit as many as we can. We have already been to Helder Park and Van Raalte, and today we visited...
It's not a very big park but it is pretty!

New addition

Today we went to the pet store! I looked at the fish.
I checked out the turtles.And we brought our very own fishies home to keep! Daddy got the tank all ready and carefully let the fishies free.
They are a lot of fun to watch

Animals

The horse at Meijer wasn't working when we went grocery shopping, but I had fun sitting on it anyway.
Before going out to run some errands I stopped to grab my blue monkey. Mommy thought it was pretty cute!

Surprise from Mommy

Sometimes Mommy earns prizes from Mary Kay and this time she decided to pick one out especially for me. She brought me the box and let me start opening it...

Gardening with Daddy

One of Daddy's favorite things to do with me is to go outside and take care of our garden.
Daddy says this is going to grow into a cucumber!
I love my daddy lots and lots!

My first overnighter

Last night I had my first overnighter at Grandma and Papa's house. I had a good time playing with Seth and discovering new things.
I did this all by myself!
Abbey came with me to help keep me company.
While I played at Grandma and Papa's house, Mommy and Daddy went away to celebrate their 5th anniversary. They went out for dinner, relaxed at the Bed &Breakfast, and slept in in the morning. They even got all dressed up!
We missed each other but Grandma said I did a really good job. We all had a great time!

More errands to run

Yesterday we went to a new store in downtown Holland called Tip Toes that has cute clothes and other fun things for babies and toddlers. While we were there we bought a special sprayer to clean my cloth diapers. This morning we discovered that we needed one more part for it so we went to Lowes to get it. Here I am roaming the aisles with Daddy, proudly carrying our new toilet connector thingy.

Party!

Last weekend Mommy and I cleaned out the garage because tonight we had a party in it! Daddy invited everyone from the worship team at church over to our house to have a party together. We listened to music, ate food, played games, and had a good time! I even got to join in on the fun for a little while!

Friends my size

Today my friends Noelen and Soe came over to play. Noelen is 2 1/2 but Soe is just a little bit older than me. We had a lot of fun playing together.
This was Soe's favorite toy of mine!

Shopping

Today Mommy, Daddy, and I took a quick trip to the mall to visit Bath and Body Works. Mommy says they are having a big candle sale and we just had to check it out. Here I am having a great time with Daddy.

Matching outfits

A little while back we discovered that my friend Anna and I have the same outfit. Tonight we had dinner with her and her parents and took the opportunity to take some pictures of us in our cute matching clothes. I also took the opportunity to play with Anna's toys.
Sorry Anna. I think I got carried away.

Anniversary

Five years ago today Mommy and Daddy got married! They told me they are going to celebrate their anniversary next weekend, after Daddy's grad class is done, but today we went to Red Robin as a family to help make the day special.

Summer barbecue

Tonight we went to our friends the Fox's house and had a barbecue. I got to hang out with the kids there and had a great time!

Bum Genius

Mommy says... "Recently our friend Catie posted an entry on her family's blog about the success they have had with cloth diapers. I did a little bit of research online with the help of a site she mentioned but left it at that. A short while later our good friend Jen posted a similar entry on her daughter's blog stating that she had been testing out some cloth diapers. I finally brought it up to Dan and we decided to give it a try. After more research we were most interested in the bum genius diapers. It turns out that they have a 14-day trial program, so we gave it a go!"
"The diapers arrived yesterday and we held our first and most important experiment - the overnight test. We got Lillian all wrapped up in her bum genius 3.0 and off to bed she went."
"The results? The diapers passed with flying colors! We washed the diaper in the morning and tried it out again, but since nighttime is truly the most challenging for Lillian when it comes to diapers, we decided to go for it. Thus begins a new chapter in our lives as parents!"

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Daddy's 27th Birthday!!!
Daddy had to go to his graduate class this morning, but when he got home Mommy had lunch and his favorite board game waiting for him. After that we played in the backyard.
Later in the afternoon we went for a family walk at VanRaalte Farm. We followed a trail down to a river.
We saw a really big, really old tree.
And we had a fun time!
Next we dropped Abbey off at home and went to Via Maria for dinner. We sat outside and fed the fishies, explored an addition they are building, and had a very nice dinner!
Finally we went back home and Mommy and Daddy put me to bed. Daddy told me he ate cheesecake and opened presents after that. I hope you had a great day, Daddy!
