Big Sister Party!!

Tonight Mommy and Daddy let me open a special "Big Sister" present and we had a little party together.
They gave me a book called "I'm a Big Sister" and a special "Family, Feelings, and Fun" Signing Time DVD. We watched the video and read the book right away.
I think being a big sister will be fun!

Surprise visitors

Mommy says, "Our friends Jen and Bryan had to be in Holland this evening so we had an impromptu dinner date with them. Anna and Lillian had fun sitting across from each other as they ate and, as always, had a great time playing."

Play!

Mommy says, "Lillian was in a really good mood this morning. After grocery shopping she said she wanted to play, which often refers to going to the mall and visiting the play area. She had a great time!"
"She spent a good deal of time playing on the benches outside the play area too!""She also discovered a new fun spot."

The Lion King

Mommy says, "Last night Lillian had a sleepover with her grandma while Dan and I chaperoned a trip of 80 Hamilton students to see The Lion King. The show was great and everyone seemed to really enjoy it! Lillian also had a great time with her grandma and even got to go to church with her this morning! We are very grateful that my mom was able to watch her, since we didn't get home until after 1 am!"

Abbey's doctor

Today we took Abbey to her doctor. She has not been feeling very well and Mommy and Daddy wanted to make sure everything was okay. The doctor gave her some medicine that should make her feel all better again. I had fun playing at the vet's office!

The swing is back!

Mommy says, "Lillian has already been breaking her swing back in now that the weather has been a bit warmer! She loves it so much!""If you look closely you can see her slightly blue lips, not from the cold but from a sucker she got at Waukazoo!"

Baby boy bedding

Mommy says, "Today the bedding we ordered for our baby boy arrived! So exciting!"

Swimsuit shopping

Monday is usually our day to get groceries. Today we also made a special stop at Target to pick out a swimsuit for me. I had fun modeling them! Here I am in the "runner-up."

Future singer

Mommy says, "This morning all three of us went to church early so that Dan and I could practice with the worship team. We never know quite what to expect from Lillian during these practices; sometimes she wants to be held, other times she wants to play. Today she wanted to sing!""At one point I turned the microphone off while she was singing into it, but she immediately noticed and started saying 'help' repeatedly until I turned it back on!"

Shopping and baby shower

Mommy says, "This morning my friend Jen, Lillian, and I went to a Mom-2-Mom sale in town and got a few onesies for our baby boy."
"We also made a stop at Carter's and picked out an outfit for baby boy that was just too cute to pass up! Lillian enjoyed visiting the ducks one more time!"
"Later we went to a baby shower for our friends Jess and Peter, who are expecting their first baby in June!""I have heard of people making these diaper cakes for shower gifts, but this was my first time seeing one up close. Very impressive!"

Mommy says we have a baby shower to go to tomorrow. Today she was wrapping the present we bought for it. But before she got a chance to do that, I had to test things out!

St. Patrick's Day Ultrasound!!

Today has been a very exciting day! Not only did we all wear green for St. Patrick's Day, but this afternoon Mommy, Daddy, and I went to Mommy's doctor's office for her 20-week ultrasound! We got to see pictures and videos of the baby and so far everything looks great! We also found out that I am going to have a BABY BROTHER! We are all very excited!
After the appointment, Mommy and Daddy called their families to share the news. Then we went out to eat at Logan's to celebrate!Our next stop was to Carter's to pick out my baby brother's first outfits. Mommy said they went shopping after my ultrasound too!
I had fun watching the ducks at the pond just outside of the store!

Big news!!!!

Mommy says, "A lot more updates are on their way from our recent vacation to Texas, but I wanted to let everyone know that Lillian is going to have a baby BROTHER! We are very excited that he looks healthy and things are going smoothly!! Hooray!!!"

Trip to Texas, day five

Mommy says, "Today was our travel day home. I finished repacking our suitcase after Lillian went to bed last night and did a few things for work. Unfortunately Lillian woke up several times before midnight and sounded pretty congested. I think both of us have started to come down with colds. That made travels a little less than ideal today. Lillian was in good spirits when we got to the airport, though!"
"She enjoyed looking at the airplanes.""Our first flight was pretty short and went well. We were very fortunate to have what I think was the only empty seat on the whole plane next to us. We had fun watching little bits of Finding Nemo, which is Lillian's current favorite video. When we arrived to the airport in Dallas, Lillian had a minor meltdown when I wouldn't let her play with my cell phone. After that she got a short break to play in the play area."
"Our flight was slightly delayed, which allowed us time to get a bite to eat for lunch. We boarded a very small plane, which was very full. This did not look good. Lillian was pretty tired and I dozed off a bit while we watched Finding Nemo. I was startled awake by Lillian, who began crying quite loudly. She was clearly tired and not wanting to be on the plane. She continued crying for about 10-15 minutes until the drink service reached us and she got some juice to drink. Shortly after that, the very nice flight attendant offered to move our seatmate up to the only empty seat on the plane (which happened to be in first-class; good for him!) so we could have some extra room. We spread out and watched some more of Finding Nemo.""Lillian started to get a bit more agitated as the flight went on and when it came time for landing, which meant the turning off of Nemo, she lost it. Unfortunately she screamed and, well, thrashed about for the remainder of our 15-minute descent. By the time she landed she had worn herself out and fell asleep on my shoulder. We were both very happy to be home!"
"My mom graciously picked us up at the airport and Lillian and I had a very happy reunion with Dan when we made it home. It was a great trip but it was also great to be home!"

Trip to Texas, day four

This morning we all went to Rockhills Church together. We got there early so Aunt Megan could practice with the worship band, which meant I had lots of time to explore the theater they hold their services in. I had so much fun climbing all of the stairs and playing with my cousins! After church we had a fun meal of fondue together! I didn't eat much of the fondue, but the adults all said it was yummy! Next it was time for a long, Sunday afternoon nap. Then Uncle Peter surprised us by taking all of us girls to Six Flags Fiesta Texas! As soon as I saw the giant roller coasters I started asking Mommy to ride them! We found something a little bit more age-appropriate instead.
Don't worry - there were no hills or bumps, so Mommy and I were safe! My cousins went on some bigger rides.
Meanwhile, I found another place to play.
I had fun playing with the water, but stayed pretty dry. Mommy was very thankful!
We ate dinner at the park, rode a Scooby-Doo ride, watched Uncle Peter and the girls on the ferris wheel, and headed home. What fun!

Trip to Texas, day three

Today Uncle Peter had to work all day, so Mommy, Aunt Megan, the girls and I hung out together. We played at home in the morning, ran some errands, and ate lunch at Jason's Deli. Later on all of us girls got in the giant whirlpool tub together and had silly bathtime!
I don't remember it very well, but Mommy tells me this wasn't my first time in this bathtub.

Trip to Texas, day two

Today was another fun day! This morning I got to play with my cousins. They are so much fun and have so many neat toys!
(Mommy says the picture quality isn't great in the previous shot but our expressions are so funny she couldn't pass it up!)For lunch we took a trip to a place called Chuck E. Cheese. I had never been there before and it was SO COOL!Yum! I got my first taste of cotton candy!!
Can you tell that I liked it?We spent the rest of the day playing at home - after a good nap! What a fun time we are having!

Trip to Texas, day one

Mommy says, "This morning I got Lillian out of bed just after 3:30 AM so we could drive to my parents' house. My mom was nice enough to take us to the airport in time to catch our 5:50 AM flight! Lillian stayed awake the whole time but did a pretty good job on both flights. We had a longer-than-expected layover in Dallas, which allowed Lillian to play a bit before getting back on the plane."
"Lillian is very safety conscious.""Megan (my sister-in-law) and the girls (Amy, Sophie, Abby) picked us up from the airport and we grabbed lunch at Chick-fil-A. It was my first time eating there! By the time we reached the house, Peter (my brother) was there as well and we all had a nice relaxing afternoon together. That night Peter graciously agreed to put all 4 girls to bed while Megan and I went to the Spurs-Lakers game! It was a very close game toward the end, but the Lakers won. Wow! My first NBA game!"

Food n' Fun Night

Sometimes Daddy eats cookies for breakfast. Sometimes Mommy lets me try it too! Don't worry, I know how to share!Tonight our church had another Food n' Fun Night. This time we had a spring fever party and did all sorts of silly things!
