Birthday party
I bring the kids to a mom's playgroup at church just about every week. Today, however, we had a special playgroup birthday party for Jordan and Crew, who were celebrating their first birthday. The kids (and moms) had a great time!
Cake, ice cream, presents, and an egg hunt too! What more could a kid ask for?

Engedi Easter Event
Tonight we had a big Easter-themed event for our church and community. Lillian got to hang out with the big kids for a while and had a lot of fun playing on the giant bean bags in the youth room.

Starbucks and school
This morning Starbucks was giving out free pastries with any beverage purchase. I had some errands to run with the kids anyway, so we decided to stop at Starbucks, pick up some coffee and a free pastry, and surprise Dan at school with them. He is in the middle of three extremely busy weeks so I thought he would appreciate a little surprise during his planning time to brighten his day.

Chickens and Calebs
Today we visited our friends Matt and Elsie who just had a beautiful baby boy named Caleb. I am sure we will have a proper photo op of our Caleb and theirs in the future, but we thought since he is still quite young that maybe this was not the best time to do so. However, we did get a photo op of our friends' chickens. Lillian was quite excited!

St. Patrick's Day
I don't have a drop of Irish blood in me, but since becoming a mom, I have grown increasingly fond of St. Patrick's Day. We started the day with a green breakfast. The eggs got a little out of control.
Even Caleb joined in on the fun.
We went to playgroup at church and brought egg casserole and shamrock cookies. Thankfully I had the foresight to refrain from dying the egg casserole green.
We had shamrock waffles for dinner. Yes, that whipped cream is green.
I was especially proud of my burst of creativity when preparing my plate.
Dan and I had some delicious Irish coffee with our brinner.
Lillian wore some adorable shamrock ponytail holders that our friend Jen made.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!

St. Patrick's Day cookies
Yesterday Lillian helped me make shamrock cookies and today we decorated them. I have a new favorite recipe I like to use for cutout cookies. I'm pretty sure Lillian likes it too.

Toys
Today I took the kids to the play area at the mall for the first time in quite a while. Actually, it may have been Caleb's first trip... I'll have to check the archives on that one. Anyway, I had to take a picture to commemorate the occasion.
And here is more of the fashionista... this time using toys as an accessory.

Dinner with friends
Tonight we went out for dinner with our friends the Van Hals as well as some friends from out of town, Pete and Jess. We had a fun time trying to talk together amidst the four children under the age of three in our group. Unfortunately I failed to get a picture of Pete, Jess, and their daughter Nadia, but you may enjoy the pictures of Lillian, Bryan, Caleb and Waddle instead.

An exciting day
This morning I took a bite of a banana while holding Caleb. He was so interested in my banana that I decided to let him try a bit. I gave him little bits of it and he loved it! This was his first official experience with real, quasi-solid food! Afterward I gave him a chunk to mush in his netted teether dealy (the technical term).
He did so well with the banana that I let him try some cheerios too. He didn't have too many successful experiences with those, but I was impressed that he managed to pick up a few of them!
Today was also an exciting day because I took the kids on our first walk of the season. Yay!
Yes, there is still snow on the ground, but we were happy walkers nonetheless!
