Ladybug again (for real this time!)

This morning Daddy had to fly out to Minnesota to play in a worship concert. After seeing him off Mommy and I met up with our friends Jen, Anna, Lindsey, and Gabe at Frederik Meijer Gardens.
The mommies were proud that they actually got some pictures of all three of us!
Gabe and I had fun playing with the water.
It was so bright and beautiful outside we were squinting!
After taking a nap at Grandma and Papa's house we went to visit Great Grandpa and Pauline.
Then Mommy took me trick-or-treating to visit friends in our old neighborhood.
To end the day, Abbey and I helped pass out candy at Grandma and Papa's house.

Ladybug again

I love my Abbey. Lately I really like to play with her but sometimes I get in trouble for being a little too rough.
Tonight we went to Treats & Trails at the Outdoor Discovery Center here in town. I got to wear my ladybug costume and play outside. We saw lots of neat things including owls and a really big animal Mommy says is an elk.

Entertainment

I went to church with Mommy for a little while this morning so she could get a few things done. I was very good at entertaining myself. Mommy wasn't always thrilled with what I chose to do, though.
Mommy let me play with sprinkles while she cooked dinner.
When we got the mail this afternoon we found a Halloween card from Grandma and Papa. Mommy, Daddy and I had a lot of fun playing with the stickers she sent. At one point all of us (Abbey included) had three eyes!

No more CABLE for Lillian...

Mommy says, "I think Lillian got too much stimulation just before bedtime last night at CABLE group. We kept her up later than usual and she was quite the center of attention while we were there. She went to bed fine when we got home, but she woke up screaming around 3:00 A.M. I tried letting her cry and checking on her periodically. I tried snuggling her. I tried letting her cry some more. She finally fell asleep on my chest around 6:00. Oy. I don't know if Lillian is allowed to go to CABLE group anymore..."

National Bubble Bath Day

According to Rachel Coleman today is National Bubble Bath Day. Tonight all three of us went to our CABLE group. I was very good and played while the adults were talking. Mommy and Daddy were impressed! Here I am with Gil, one of our leaders. He was nice and let me try on his glasses. Mommy says sorry the picture isn't better!

The big game

Mommy says, "After our Halloween outing this morning, Lillian and Abbey chose to illustrate the big game taking place today. Here they are watching a bit of the action."
"True to the colors she was sporting, Lillian demonstrated her dominance over Abbey throughout the afternoon."
"Don't worry, Aunt Mindy, she isn't really a State fan. Our friends Sam and Mike are the ones to thank for her shirt."

A little ladybug

Mommy says, "When we were out shopping yesterday we found out that Old Navy was having a costume party today with free giveaways. I love any excuse to put Lillian in her cute ladybug costume so we went to check it out!"
"With all of the giveaways Old Navy was having Lillian got a new shirt and a costume for next year all for free! She also made a new friend."
"Next we went to Meijer to participate in their trick-or-treating costume event."
"It was such a fun morning! We will be sure to do more fun things like this next year!"

Family day

Since Daddy has the day off today we decided to go out and have a family day together. Mommy still had some gift cards from her birthday so we went spent the afternoon at the mall. I fell asleep on the way out there and needed a little help waking up.
Everywhere we went I always wanted to try on shoes.
Daddy helped me try on some coats too.

Croup, day three

Last night was a better night. Daddy came and picked me up about three different times but each time he put me back down again and I fell asleep on my own. I even slept until 7:30, which is about a half hour later than usual! The other exciting thing about today is that Daddy is home! He had conferences earlier this week so he gets today and tomorrow off to make up for it. Yay! We have had a lot of fun so far!
This afternoon we went walking around downtown. We really like to do that.
Of course I had to visit my friends Chet and Icarus at Treehouse Books.
We'll see what tonight brings!

Croup, day two

I didn't sleep real well last night. I woke up at 3:00 in the morning and Mommy spent a couple of hours snuggling me until finally we both fell asleep on the chair around 5:00. Mommy said I sounded pretty bad in the night and she didn't want to let me keep crying because then my breathing sounded worse. I have been feeling better so far today, though. We spent some time playing outside again.By the way, I am a big fan of yogurt and when Mommy or Daddy open the refrigerator door I often grab a yogurt and a bowl so they can get it ready for me. Sometimes I even shake the yogurt too!

An unfortunate day

Mommy says, "Today started out in an unusual way. Lillian slept an hour later than she typically does. I was pleasantly surprised (amazed is probably a better word) until she woke up and I could hear from her little voice that she was not well. She started coughing shortly after and had a nasty barking cough unlike any she's ever had before. After searching through my books and the internet I made a self-diagnosis that she had Croup. We spent some time in the bathroom with the shower running to help her breathing, called the doctor, and off we went."
"Lillian's doctor confirmed that she had croup and said spending time outside would help. We returned home to allow Lillian to eat lunch and sleep first. After her nap we made a quick trip to the grocery store and returned home. Lillian was sitting in her high chair eating a snack and Abbey was outside on her chain. After about 10 minutes I went to let Abbey inside and discovered this."
"Abbey's chain had broken! I frantically called Dan and my mom to ask them to pray for our missing puppy, grabbed Lillian from inside and started circling the house calling for Abbey. There was no response. I came across my neighbor and her children and asked if they had seen Abbey. They had not. I explained the situation and ran back inside to grab Abbey's leash so that if and when we found her we'd have something to bring her home with. Just as I returned outside I saw my neighbor with Abbey! Hooray! She had been outside another neighbor's house apparently trying to get a better look at their dog, Riley. I was so relieved! I said many thanks to my neighbor and we returned home. I gave Abbey lots and lots of hugs to welcome her back and we promptly replaced her chain outside. I called Dan and my mom back to share the good news. I am very thankful that she is okay!"
"Eventually we did make it outside to play and Lillian got to show off her cute winter duds."
"Phew! What a day!"

Maylee and Great Grandpa

This afternoon my friend Maylee came over for a playdate. She and I are only one month apart in age.
We kept very busy and had a good time together.
I had a little bit of a hard time sharing my toys with Maylee, but then out of nowhere I grabbed Maylee and hugged her so Mommy knew everything was okay!
Later in the day Mommy and I went to Grandma and Papa's house. My great grandpa and his wife Joann were visiting from out of state and we all had dinner together.
