DeYoung family Christmas, part 2

Last night Uncle Kevin, Aunt Trisha, Ian, Jacob, and Elsie slept over at our house. We all went to bed right away but this morning we started the day by watching part of Kung Fu Panda with Uncle Kevin. All of us kids got a pair of pajamas as one of our gifts last night, so most of us wore them today for day 2 of Christmas fun.
We all ate a big breakfast together and then gathered by the Christmas tree to sing songs and listen to the Christmas story.
After the adults sang "And the Child Grew" it was time for us all to start opening presents!Amy gave me a big hug after opening the present I gave her.
The last present I opened was my very own giraffe to ride! I was so excited!
What a great day!

DeYoung family Christmas, part 1

Today we went to Grandma and Papa's house to start celebrating Christmas! There are so many of us (10 adults, 9 kids) that we decided to spread the fun over two days. Today we played, opened stockings and a few gifts, and had a big dinner together. My cousin Sophie was offering free hairdos. Don't you think Aunt Megan's hair looks great?
She also let me play with her bag of hair things. You know how I love to accessorize!
Here are my cousins Abby and Sophie, posing by a few of the bags of stocking gifts.
Each kid got a cool ball in our stocking that lights up when you throw it! I think the parents were just as excited as we were! Here's a shot of my cousins Micah and Seth working together to open a gift.
And here am I with my cousin Elsie, playing with Jacob's new game.

Snuggle time

I love my daddy and I love snuggling with him. Mommy and I have really, really liked having Daddy home this past week - and we still have a whole week together before he goes back to work!

Indian food

Today Mommy and Daddy and I went to an Indian restaurant with some friends after church. I mostly ate the french fries that our friends brought for their kids, but I did like the Indian bread (nan) and I loved the mango pudding! Here I am playing with my friend Zachary, who is just a few weeks younger than me.

Blogging buddies and my very own table

This afternoon I got to meet my blogging buddy Adeline. She and I are about the same age and are almost related - my aunt Megan is Adeline's aunt too. Both of our mommies help us keep blogs but today was our first time meeting in person. We had a good time!
Afterward Mommy and Daddy put together one of my gifts from Bada and Poppy - my very own table and chairs! Mommy moved some things so it can fit right in my room. I have already had so much fun with it!!

DuPuis family Christmas

Late last night we drove to Flushing so we could spend today with Daddy's family. Everyone gathered at Aunt Mindy's house this morning for presents and breakfast.
Bada cried when she and Poppy opened their surprise gift - a framed picture of the whole family.
We got to spend the whole day together and had a really great time. The adults played the Wii.
I played with my baby doll stroller and with Anna's American Girl doll, Kit.
And we all played and goofed off together!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Christmas Eve

This morning I woke up to find all sorts of presents under the tree! I didn't open them right away but I did take a close look!
Mommy, Daddy, and I sat at the table together and lit the Advent wreath. We stopped before lighting each candle to read part of the Christmas story and sing songs.
We ate a special breakfast and then we went back to the living room to open stockings and presents!
Abbey got to open a few too.My favorite present was my set of twin baby dolls! We relaxed and spent the whole day together. Then we went to church together at night. It was a great Christmas Eve!

Being cute

We spent most of the day at home today because there is SO MUCH SNOW! We played in the fort some more and found other ways to have fun.

I am getting better and better at talking on the phone. Today I got to practice with Daddy!

Snowstorm #2

Wow. We have so much more snow! Daddy says we actually had a blizzard warning for several hours today. It is pretty crazy outside. We did make it to church in the morning, though, and I even wore my Christmas dress!
Look at all the snow we dragged into the garage with us!That's a whole lot of snow. Especially since Daddy had just snowplowed the day before.
Daddy thought we should do something special to "celebrate" our blizzard. We made a fort and played together in it!Happy first day of winter!

Snowstorm #1

Today it snowed ALL day long. There was so much snow already this morning that Daddy had his first snow day! Yippee!
We made white chocolate-covered pretzels.
I sampled a few.
And I helped Mommy and Daddy get the house ready for a party with their old college friends. My friend Anna and I were the life of the party!
