Happy Easter!

He is risen!  He is risen, indeed!  We started our Easter with Easter baskets and a great church service, which Lillian even got to play a small role in!

After church we went to my parents' house and spent time with some great people that we don't get to see very often.  Of course there was plenty of delicious food to enjoy and lots of cousins (and second cousins) to play together!

Easter Eve

Tomorrow is Easter but since we will be at church all morning and at my parents' house after that we decided to have some of the festivities today!

We had fun decorating easter eggs and even had help from some friends!  We also tried this recipe and baked the eggs in the oven.  We were a bit nervous about trying this new method but it worked out perfectly!

Sibling love

Tonight Lillian and Caleb emerged from playing in Lillian's bedroom and announced that they were getting married.  Check out the wedding clothes!

One year later

This picture was taken on March 23, 2012 when we arrived home from the hospital with Liam for the very first time.  Notice how tiny Liam is but also notice the flowers in bloom in the background.
One year later the scene is quite different!  Liam is huge, of course, but also notice the snow in the background.  What a difference a year makes!

Opposites

Ever since Lillian lost her bottom teeth we've been talking about getting a closeup of her with Liam, who only has two teeth on the bottom.  I tried to get a shot today and failed but wound up with a couple of cute pictures nonetheless!

Guitar time

Caleb woke up from his nap and promptly decided (without pants on) to practice his guitar skills on Liam's birthday present.

Liam's first birthday party

This afternoon we celebrated Liam's first birthday along with some of our family members.  We decorated dog balloons, ate dinner, played pin the candle on the cupcake, opened presents, and ate cake!

Dear Liam,

You are such a blessing to us.  Your easygoing nature and nearly endless smiles bring joy to us each day.  You have a way of lighting up the entire room and even making complete strangers smile.  We don't want you to grow up too quickly but yet we are excited to see the boy and, someday, the man you will become.  We love you so much and pray that you will grow to know and love the Lord throughout your entire life.  We love you, Liam Daniel.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
