No more cast!
This morning Mommy brought me back to the orthopedic office to get my wrist checked out. I sat nice and still for x-rays once again.
Mommy was thankful that I did so well waiting this time and that we didn't have to wait very long at all!
She was even more thankful that the doctor gave us a good report and that I was able to get my cast off! I didn't even cry! Mommy says I am very brave :)
No more cast! Hooray!!

A fun weekend
Daddy spent most of yesterday and today at a conference in Grand Rapids, so we all spent the night at Grandma and Papa's house in Jenison. Yesterday Mommy and I mostly just relaxed at the house but today was an exciting day! Mommy and I went to Krispy Kreme with her friend Christi, saw a live production of Little Red Riding Hood, and I played with my cousins Seth and Micah. It was a fun time!

Ultrasound
This afternoon Mommy and Daddy brought me back to the doctor's office to see pictures of the baby. We got a really good report that so far everything looks great with my little baby brother or sister! The doctor confirmed that the baby is due to arrive sometime around July 31. We went out to eat to celebrate!

Mmm! Breakfast!
Playing with the laser pointer.
Stopping to visit a friend while grocery shopping.
CABLE group silliness. I make a point to keep everyone entertained.
And in case you didn't know, I'm not real shy.

Movie fun
Today Daddy had his first grad class for the year. While he was in class Mommy brought me to see The Tale of Despereaux with Grandma, Aunt Kristen, Seth and Micah. This was the first movie she's taken me to see since Wall-E and she said I did much better this time. Afterward we had fun playing on the toys outside the theater. I especially liked the Bob the Builder toy and didn't want to leave it!

An important announcement
Today was a very special day. Mommy and Daddy took me to a doctor's office and we got to "meet" my little baby brother or sister for the very first time. That's right... Mommy is going to have another baby!! I'm going to be a big sister!!
We got to hear the heartbeat today and we were all very excited! The doctor says the baby seems healthy and that he or she will probably arrive in late July or early August. Hooray!
We are all very, very happy!

Winter Carnival
Tonight our church hosted a Winter Carnival. Last night I helped Mommy and Daddy set up for it. Today Mommy and I went back to the church to do some last-minute things. This is one of my favorite places to play at the church... and the place where I once hid Mommy's keys!
Later on we came out to attend the carnival and had a ton of fun!!

I loved dancing to the music in the cake walk!

Sandy the pony
On Mondays Mommy and I usually go grocery shopping, but today we did something special. I noticed Sandy the Pony at Meijer and I decided I was ready to try riding her. Last summer Mommy let me ride but I was a little scared when she started moving. This time I loved it! I rode twice and wanted to ride more!

Firsts
This morning I had my first bath with my cast. Mommy says she is very thankful that my cast is waterproof!
I discovered what the potty is a while ago and sometimes I ask to go there. I haven't been successful making any poopies on the potty, but Mommy and Daddy let me try anyway!
Oh! And Mommy discovered that my last eye tooth finally came through today. Hooray! She says this means almost all of my teeth are in now and that makes everyone very excited!

Lillian's first broken bone
Mommy says, "I got a call from Dr. Miller shortly before 9:00 this morning saying Lillian had a 10:30 appointment at Shoreline Orthopaedic, which is thankfully only a few miles from our house. I suited up Lillian and we made our way there."
"We had to wait for quite a while in the waiting room but Lillian decided it was her job to entertain the elderly audience there. Later she found ways to keep busy as we waited in the exam room."
"At about 11:30 we met with Dr. Dean. He confirmed that Lillian has a fractured radius but reassured us that at her age injuries tend to heal quickly. He indicated that she would need to wear a cast for about 3 weeks. He went on to explain that children Lillian's age have a tendency to wriggle out of their casts and, therefore, she would have to have a full cast up past her elbow. Thankfully we were able to get a waterproof cast, which means she can take normal baths for the next 3 weeks. Lillian was again a very good girl and sat quite still while the cast technician wrapped her arm in a very stylish hot pink cast. "
"Although Lillian has only had the cast for a few hours she has already discovered some of its advantages and disadvantages. Disadvantage #1: It is decidedly difficult to carry both baby dolls when one of your arms is in a cast. Disadvantage #2: It is also a bit more messy to eat when you only have one hand to work it. Advantage #1: Banging your cast on the kitchen table makes a really neat sound. We're hoping it takes a while before she discovers Advantage #2: A cast is a built-in weapon."

"Thanks for reading our story on our little Lillian. Her daddy has never broken a bone, so she has already surpassed him in that regard. We'll continue to keep you updated and welcome your prayers for her full recovery. We are very grateful for the spunk and good attitude she has had so far. I'm sure we'll have more stories to share!"

An unfortunate update
Mommy says, "It has been quite the day! I did take Lillian to the doctor's office today but things did not go as I thought they would. Dr. Miller examined Lillian's wrist and concluded that we needed to get x-rays. Oy. So Lillian and I promptly went to Holland Hospital for x-rays. Thankfully Lillian was a real trooper and sat very still for the three x-rays she needed. Afterward I was told to wait at the hospital until we heard back from the doctor because there was a chance she may need something done yet that night."
"After spending about 30 minutes in the radiology waiting room Dr. Miller called and said Lillian would have an appointment scheduled for the next day with an orthopedist. We were told we could go home for the night but should wrap her wrist in the meantime."
"Lillian was not a fan of her bandage at first but she got used to it pretty quickly. I should find out tomorrow morning what time we meet with the orthopedist. Please pray that all goes well."

First day back
Today was Daddy's first day back at school. Mommy and I missed him lots but we had a nice day together. We played at home, went grocery shopping (we usually do this on Mondays), and I got to play in the church nursery while she met with some of the other staff. When Daddy got home we did lots of playing together to make up for his time away.
Sometimes I like to make a mess with things from the hall closet.
And sometimes I like to give gifts to Abbey.
I'm friendly like that.
Although Mommy doesn't like it much when I play with her wallet.
In other news, today Mommy called my doctor because I have been a little sensitive with my left wrist ever since I fell out of a chair last week. I have an appointment at 4:00 tomorrow. Hopefully we will find out that everything is a-okay!
