Halloween!

Happy Halloween everyone! Today we have a little mouse, a monkey, and a puppy princess at our house and boy are they cute!
We spent the afternoon/evening at a Harvest Fest at our church. Caleb behaved himself and Lillian had a blast! Our friend Angela's son, Jordan, had the exact same costume as Caleb. What good looking monkeys!
Mindy and Anna came to the Harvest Fest too - it was great to spend time with them! After the Harvest Fest we went home to pass out candy. Lillian loved answering the door to see all of the trick-or-treaters! We made quick stops at a few houses in the cul-de-sac before calling it a night. Phew!

Laughs with Daddy

Caleb was giving some good laughs while hanging out with his Daddy tonight.

Fall cleanup

Dan has today and tomorrow off from school to make up for all the extra time he and the other teachers put in the last few days for conferences. So today we decided to take advantage of the free time and decent weather to do some cleaning in the yard.

Sharing clothes

I recently looked through the tub of Lillian's 3-6 month clothes to see if there was anything Caleb could wear. Most of the clothes were quite girly, but I was able to dig out some onesies and a few cute sets of jammies, including the one pictured below.

Growing up

Our little boy is growing up. Tonight he had his final naps and night's sleep in his Miracle Blanket. Tomorrow we enter the world of the sleep sack. Here's hoping it goes well!

A fall tradition

Guess what we've been doing lately...

Happy 30th Dave!

Today we drove to Swartz Creek to celebrate Dan's brother Dave's 30th Birthday. We were happy to spend time with family and celebrate Dave. We also got to see Jen's baby bump! She is expecting with their second little boy in January. The party was fun and the cake was impressive!

Handsome guy

Need I say more?

Fondue with friends

Tonight we went to our friends Kristin and Dave's house for a fondue feast. The food was delicious and I am pleased to report that no one got food poisoning!

Autumn leaves are falling...

Lillian has been very interested in Fall lately so I taught her this song that my K-2 students used to love when I was a music teacher. She got a little excited while singing it...

Lillian's first haircut!

Tonight was a momentous occasion - Lillian's first haircut! I have cut her bangs several times, but this was her first official cut of ALL her hair. It wasn't a major cut, just a trimming of the ends. But, it was monumental nonetheless! Our friend Lindsey came to the rescue once again. And, surprisingly, Lillian did very well!

Three months!

Guess who is 3 months old today?!
According to our scale at home Caleb is up to 14 lbs now. If that is accurate that puts him between the 50th and 75th percentiles for weight. He is quite good at holding his head up now and has officially been turned around when in the Baby Bjorn.Neither of our kids have been early rollers, but Caleb did have a fluke rollover today during our photo session. I won't count it yet, though, because I had propped him up on his elbows to start. I think it surprised him though!
And here is one final picture for you to enjoy!

Mommy's little stinker

We bought this same onesie for our new nephew, Levi, but couldn't resist and got one for Caleb too. I tried to take a picture the first time Caleb wore it, but he spit up all over it before I got a chance. Kind of ironic, huh?Sometimes tummy time is hard work.

Calendar

Lillian and I have been talking about the days of the week lately and some of the things we typically do on certain days. So today we made a calendar together. We both had a lot of fun!

Kitchen helper

Lillian has enjoyed helping me in the kitchen lately. She loves dumping ingredients into the bowl.
Sometimes she dresses for the occasion too.

All smiles

Up close and personal with the elephant (thanks Sam and Alani!)

Oldies but goodies

Dan surprised me by giving me a new camera for Mother's Day. It has been a long process of learning how to use it and for a while I didn't know where my videos were being stored on the computer. I finally found them and had to share some of the best ones from the summer. Enjoy!

Caleb's dedication

This morning we had the privilege of dedicating Caleb James to the Lord in front of our church family. The scripture we chose was "So we keep praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of His call. May He give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with Him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ" - 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12Both kids did very well on stage. Lillian's favorite part, however, was the cake and punch reception afterward.
A closeup of the handsome boy.
A special thank you to our family members who were able to be a part of our special day. Thank you!

Tummy time

Someone is getting stronger and stronger with each tummy time session!

The taste of Fall (one of them, anyway)

I like to refer to this as Autumn Gorp. It was inspired by our friends Lindsey and Liz. It consists of candy corn, peanuts, and Reese's Pieces. Mmm...

The big 2-8

Today is my 28th birthday. It doesn't feel like a terribly significant age. I already have the right to vote, to drink, and to rent a car. I don't plan to have any children while I'm 28. It's pretty much just another number. But today has been a fun day. Dan did not have to lead worship this morning, so we were able to go to church together as a family. Afterward we had lunch, took naps, and later went to Red Robin for dinner. Lillian likes Red Robin because she gets to eat fries and play with a balloon. Afterward we went home and ate birthday cake. It has been a swell weekend. :)
