Waking up is hard to do (take two)

Tonight was another one of those nights where Liam had to be woken up for his final feeding of the day.  He was just so sweet and peaceful that I had to take a picture.

It's hard to believe how much he's changed since the last time I took pictures like this at just 9 days old!

Books and boxes and bears (oh my!)

This morning we made it back to Barnes & Noble for story time.  The kids enjoyed making kites after the story.

Later on Lillian and Caleb had fun playing with the Build-a-Bear box.

It's nice to have fun in simple ways!

Mobile

After Lillian was born I did some research and chose a mobile that came highly recommended.  Dan reminded me that I ended up ordering it on eBay (you know me, I like to get a good deal!).  I don't know if there is really anything special about this mobile in particular, but all three kids have loved it!

Also check out the ADORABLE Build-a-Bear stuffed doggie in the background.  Thank you, Mindy, Elwin, and Anna (Jet, too!).

Post-Memorial Day

I am very thankful that all three kids slept well last night, especially Liam.  We had a lazy morning at the cottage and ate lunch with "Bada" and "Poppy."  Afterward we tried to go to the playground but since school is still in session it was locked.  We drove around for a while looking for somewhere the kids could play and finally settled on our old standby: the McDonald's play area.  The kids were not disappointed!

Memorial Day 2012

This morning we embarked on our first mini-vacation as a family of five.  We headed north for a brief, one-night stay at the DuPuis family cottage.  All three kids traveled well.

We arrived at the cottage, ate lunch, got settled, and then went out for Liam's first boat ride.

Afterward we ate an early dinner and then took the kids out for custard.  It was very hot and we knew the custard would melt quickly so we opted for custard in cups instead of cones.

Silliness

Dan and the "big kids" had some fun while I was taking care of Liam tonight.

New wheels

As mentioned previously, Dan's parents drove all the way down from Houghton Lake just days after driving all the way up from Tennessee to be at church for the kids' baptism.  They came to our house afterward and gave Lillian her birthday present.  As you'll see, she was THRILLED.

Baptism

This morning all three of our beautiful kiddos were baptized.  Because my dad is an elder in the RCA, he was able to hold the bowl of water for the baptisms.  The entire morning was very special and meaningful for our family.

We were especially thankful that all four grandparents could be with us for the baptisms.  A big thank you goes out to Dan's parents who drove 3 hours each way just to spend the morning with us.

If you are unfamiliar with infant baptism, feel free to read this short summary, which includes links to additional resources as well.  We are thankful to God and amazed on a daily basis by our three wonderful kids!

Breakfast date

I had a lovely breakfast with my baby boy this morning while the rest of the house slept.

Preschool picnic

Today was Lillian's last day of preschool and all of the families met at Tunnel Park for a fun celebration and picnic lunch.

I was slightly nervous but mostly impressed with Lillian's bravery in climbing to the top of this toy.

Preschool graduation

Tonight Lillian officially graduated from preschool.  We are thankful for her hard work, the friends she's made, and the fun she has had along the way.

After the graduation ceremony we went to Captain Sundae for ice cream.  If you ask Lillian I'm pretty sure she'll say that going out for ice cream with her parents, brothers, and grandparents meant at least as much to her as the actual graduation ceremony, if not more.
