Saturday fun

Aah... even during summer break, Saturdays are delightful!  Today we spent some time poolside...
...got messy eating ice cream...

...and watched Caleb chase our friend's dog at their son's graduation open house!

Hello and goodbye

This morning we said "goodbye" to Megan and the kiddos who have been in town from Texas for the last two weeks (Peter had to leave early).  The kids had a fun time playing together and us adults had a nice chat, as always.  Abby even got her picture taken with Abbey the dog!

Our kids were sad to see them go (so were we!).
Later in the day we said "hello" to the splash pad downtown - our first visit of the summer!  The kids had a blast, as always!

Hope kids

Hope has a neat practice of sending alumni a card and a Hope bib each time they have a new baby.  Last week we received our third bib in the mail and decided to capture some photos of the occasion.

Little Apple Goat

For the last few days Caleb has wanted me to read Little Apple Goat to him again and again.  It has been fun to see him get more excited about books lately, and it is especially cute when he develops favorites like this.  Thanks for the great book, Uncle Terry and Aunt Cindi!

While Caleb was busy reading Liam was having some fun of his own.

Cars, bubbles, and friends!

This afternoon the kids took their cars out for a ride.

Later on we went to our friends' house for some food, games, and a good time.  Oh, and bubbles, too!

Liam slept through the entire thing!

Strawberry jam

Mmm...

Three months old!

Yesterday Liam turned three months old.  The day was rather busy so I took his official pictures today instead.  Since last month Liam has been sleeping consistently through the night.  He still eats about every three hours, naps several times each day, and sleeps roughly from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.  He has been smiling so much more and has a quiet little laugh too.  He is an absolute joy!

In case you can't tell, Liam is our big boy!  We'll find out his official weight next month at his four-month checkup, but according to our scale he weighs 17 pounds!  Wow!  I had to do some checking and found out that Caleb weighed 14 pounds and Lillian only weighed 12.8 pounds at the same age.  In fact, the growth chart lists 16 lbs at the 95th percentile, meaning that Liam is officially off the charts!  We love our big boy!

Movies and ice cream

Lillian has been excited all week to see "Brave" this morning with her cousins.  Dan and I knew the movie might be a bit intense for her and probably would not have taken her to see it otherwise, but two of my siblings and their families are in town and we decided to take the kids to see it together.  It was intense at times and Lillian cried in her grandma's arms on at least one occasion, but she loved the rest of it and hasn't stopped talking about it since this morning.

After dinner we went downtown and got ice cream.  If you ask Lillian I'm pretty sure she'll say today was another "best day ever."

Chalk art

The kids had some fun creating chalk art tonight.

We are going with my family to watch "Brave" later this week, so Lillian has been especially into Merida (the main character) lately.
And, on a side note, our dinner was particularly lovely this evening: Grilled chicken, bacon-wrapped asparagus (from the farmers marker) and sweet potatoes with marshmallows... for the kids, of course!

Pool day

It has been unseasonably warm lately so we decided it would be a great idea to spend some time at my parents' pool.  To add to the fun, Peter and Megan are still in town with their kiddos, so we had cousin time and pool time all wrapped in one!

It is fun to see how brave Caleb is in the pool and how he inspires his big sister to be more brave too!
