Preschool celebration

Caleb has had a wonderful year of preschool.  He has had fun, made friends, andwas blessed with a wonderful teacher.  Today is the last day of preschool and the day began with a celebration at a nearby park.  The entire family was invited to attend and both boys had a great time playing!

Later that evening we went out for ice cream before Caleb's graduation ceremony.  My parents joined us, which made the occasion even more special.  With my mom's help we managed to keep everyone clean while they ate!

Caleb's graduation ceremony was very sweet and brief, which is exactly what I was hoping for, since it started after Liam's bedtime.
The kids sang "Lord I Lift Your Name on High," "I Wanna Be Just Like You" and "10,000 Reasons" very enthusiastically!

Caleb smiled big as he walked across the stage!
During the final prayer, Mrs. D started to get choked up and I was surprised when Caleb did too.  As graduation ended Caleb began crying and continued until we got home!  He was just so sad to say goodbye to his wonderful teacher and classmates.  I managed to get a few smiled out of him when we got home so we could get his "last day" picture on the front porch.
And, for comparison, here he was on the first day of preschool back in September.
Congratulations, Caleb James!  We are proud of your hard work and all that you have learned this year, and thankful that you had such a wonderful experience!

Mother's Tea

This morning Caleb's preschool class hosted a Mothers' Tea.  The kids sang, we ate coffee cake and fruit kabobs, and Caleb gave some sweet presents that he had made.  We had a lovely time together!

Caleb the star!

Today Caleb had his second turn as the star helper in his preschool class.  He was so excited that he literally jumped out of bed this morning!  He loved all of his special jobs in class today and I loved being there with him!

Preschool picnic

Today was Lillian's last day of preschool and all of the families met at Tunnel Park for a fun celebration and picnic lunch.

I was slightly nervous but mostly impressed with Lillian's bravery in climbing to the top of this toy.

Preschool graduation

Tonight Lillian officially graduated from preschool.  We are thankful for her hard work, the friends she's made, and the fun she has had along the way.

After the graduation ceremony we went to Captain Sundae for ice cream.  If you ask Lillian I'm pretty sure she'll say that going out for ice cream with her parents, brothers, and grandparents meant at least as much to her as the actual graduation ceremony, if not more.

Field trip

Today was Lillian's last turn as star helper at preschool, which means I got to go along and help in her classroom.  We lucked out, too, because today the class went on a walking field trip to Captain Sundae!  And, Lillian got to wear the birthday crown and bring her birthday treat, too.  What a fun morning at preschool!

Mother's Day Tea

This morning I had the privilege of attending the Mother's Day Tea at Lillian's preschool.  She and her classmates sang songs, acted out a story, ate snacks with their moms, and presented us with special, handmade gifts.

Lillian has been in a small class this year, comprised of just seven boys and four girls.  One of the other moms suggested we get a picture of the girls altogether.
It's hard to believe the school year is almost done!

More artwork

Yesterday Lillian celebrated Easter with her classmates at preschool. She made this very cool chalk picture with a moving stone and everything!
And here is another piece of art from the safety unit at preschool.

Lillian's artwork

Lillian is a very creative girl who loves to draw, color, and make her own crafts. She used to make several new pictures every day. Now she makes several books every day. Needless to say we cannot keep everything she creates; it would simply take up too much room. Instead I keep select creations, photograph others, and quietly dispose of many others. Pictured below are two large paintings she made at preschool earlier this year. The first is a frog (check out those eyelashes!) and the second is Joseph's coat of many colors.

If you give a moose a muffin...

Lillian gets to be the star helper for preschool again on Friday! Last time that meant she received a special visit from Clara Bell the cow. This time she has been visited by a moose instead. In honor of the special visitor we had muffins and eggs for breakfast/dinner tonight. Tomorrow Lillian will bring Daddy to preschool to be a special helper!Caleb wanted some attention too!
