Boy, oh boy, did I pick the wrong day to clean up my other music classroom! As I mentioned before, I accepted a part-time teaching position next year, which I am very thankful for. However, my new position will have me teaching in a different building than the two I've been in for the past few years. So, I cleaned up one of my classrooms back in June and returned to campus to clean up my second classroom today. Unfortunately this coincided with a 90 degree day and my classrooms are most certainly not air-conditioned. The kids love visiting my school so Dan kept them entertained while I packed.

2nd Grade Musical
Tonight I directed the second grade musical. Since it is a short, Christmas-themed performance, I thought Lillian and Caleb would enjoy it. Dan was brave enough to bring all three kids and, thankfully, they did quite well. It helped, of course, that my parents ended up coming, too! The kids had lots of fun playing together in my classroom before the performance began.

Homecoming
Time for a confession... although I am in the midst of my seventh year of teaching, my kids have never been to a Homecoming parade until tonight. In my defense, I was on "teaching hiatus" for the first three years as a parent and the weather was cold and rainy for the last two Homecoming parades. But today's weather was dry and sunny and the kids finally got to wear their Coopersville green!
We went to McDonald's afterward and Lillian loved saying "hi" to all of the students we ran into. Caleb gave the parade rave reviews and requested that we go to the "home parade" again tomorrow.
