Tennessee Vacation, Day Five

Today was a super fun, fantastic, eventful day. We spent the morning and afternoon in Chattanooga. Our first stop was the famous Chattanooga Choo Choo.
Next we ate lunch at a pizza restaurant called the Mellow Mushroom. The pizza was delicious!
After refueling we walked over to the Tennessee Aquarium. I don't think I've been to an aquarium since I was a kid, so I was extra excited to check it out and share the experience with the kids! There was so much to see and do - beginning with the fountains out front!
Let the fun begin! One of our first stops was the manta ray pond. Lillian was asked if she wanted to feed them and she said YES! I was completely surprised and proud of her!
"Poin-gins!!!"And a shark attack...
Of course we had to stop in the gift shop at the end!
Afterward the kids played in the water fountains out front and "accidentally" got very wet - just in time for our trip back to Murfreesboro! Needless to say, our kids napped in the car in their undergarments. It was a very fun day!

Tennessee Vacation, Day Four

Today we went to the Discovery Center. There were so many fun things for the kids to see and do! We all had a blast! The Discovery Center has a very cool train room that Caleb LOVED! He and I spent a lot of time there watching the model train run its course.
Caleb tried to sit in the doll high chair. There was a super cool water area that we all had a lot of fun with - and got very wet!

Tennessee Vacation, Day Two

The weather was rainy this morning so we started our day with a trip to the mall. Our kids are always up for exploring a new play area.Next we went out for brunch at Waffle House, which is pretty much a dream come true for our breakfast-loving kids.
The weather cleared up after that so we took the kids to a great park nearby. After heading back to the house for naps and dinner we made a trip to the elementary school near the house for even more playtime.Three different parks in one day - talk about a great day!

Tennessee Vacation, Day One

Today was our first official day of vacation in Tennessee. After making it to Dan's parents house pretty late last night, we took it easy today. Our day involved lots of playing inside, watching of Strawberry Shortcake, My Little Pony, and Thomas the Train, and a little playing outside in the 95 degree heat. And, of course, the eating of some delicious home-cooked meals. It was fabulous.

Road trip!

Today we left immediately after church for our first major road trip as a family of four! This is how the kids started out the trip.
Thankfully, this is how they looked a short while later.
Despite getting slowed down by 4-5 construction zones before leaving the state, we made decent time on our trek to Tennessee.

Celebration picnic

The kids weren't aware of the occasion, but we went out tonight for a celebration picnic downtown.

Some important news from Caleb

This morning I made an exciting discovery. Caleb helped share the news with his daddy. It took him a little while but he eventually caught on. :)
P.S. D-day should be sometime around the end of March/beginning of April. We are very excited!!
