Trick or treat!

Tonight we got the kids dressed up and brought them around town for some festive fun. Since our kiddos are little and the weather was still pretty chilly, we spent most of our time at some indoor venues. Lillian and Caleb looked awfully cute and had a fun time!Even the baby dressed up!

Kung Fu Panda and Ninja Caleb

This morning we brought the kids to a free showing of Kung Fu Panda 2. Caleb made it through the first hour of the movie but then sought out other forms of entertainment.
Afterward we put the kids in their costumes and brought them to Tip Toes for some early Halloween festivities. Tip Toes was offering $5 gift certificates for any child in a costume, so Lillian and Caleb each got to pick out something special.
Do anybody else's kids love these statues as much as ours?

Pumpkin decorating

We were planning to carve pumpkins tonight but I gave Lillian the choice between carving and coloring her pumpkin and she chose to color it instead. I can't really say I was surprised!

Game night/Halloween party

This afternoon we got together with our usual game night crew for some fun. Jen and Bryan, the hosts for the month, decided it would be fun to let the kids (and adults!) dress up in their Halloween costumes. Don't the girls look cute? There has to be some sort of joke involving a fairy and a ninja in a kitchen...
...and a baby...

Christmas pictures

It isn't even Halloween yet but today we drove to Lansing and dressed our kids in their Christmas clothes so they could have pictures taken with their cousins. It's a yearly tradition that came a bit early this year!

Fun morning out

Dan and I have been talking about having breakfast at Panera sometime this fall to enjoy one of their delicious pumpkin muffins and egg souffles. Today we had a free morning so we finally made it happen! We figured the kids wouldn't care much for the souffle, so they enjoyed a chocolate chip bagel instead. Mmm... deliciousness!
Afterward we went to the mall to let the kids run around and play.
As it turns out they were having a special event that morning and the kids got all sorts of stickers, freebies, and even got their faces painted!

16-week check-up

Today Dan and the kids met me at the doctor's office for my 16-week check-up. We won't bring the kids to every appointment, but we wanted to let them hear the heartbeat in person at least once. They had fun exploring the exam room!
Afterward we took a family outing to McDonald's for their Tuesday night family night. The kids, of course, had a blast!
After that I brought Caleb out on an errand while Dan and Lillian attended a special "Daddy Night" at preschool. Their project was to create something out of a cardboard box and other items. Dan said their handmade giraffe was the envy of many of the other kids!

Field trip to the pumpkin patch!

Today Lillian went on another field trip. This time her preschool class went to a pumpkin patch. Isn't she cute in her preschool shirt?

Baby Shower

Dan's sister Mindy and her husband Elwin are expecting a baby boy in November. This weekend we helped put on a baby shower for them. We played games, ate delicious food, and enjoyed each other's company. I think the baby shower was a success!

The big day!

Today is the big day! Lillian was the star helper at preschool, which meant that she needed a parent to come along and help in her classroom. Since this happened to coincide with my birthday anyway, I took a personal 1/2 day so I could join her at school. We had a great time!Oh yes, and today is also my 30th birthday. It's a strange feeling to be turning 30. I'm not overly depressed or anything like that, it's just odd! At any rate, I went to school to teach for the afternoon and then Dan, the kids and I met up at my parents house to open presents, celebrate a bit together, and then let my parents watch the kiddos for the evening so Dan and I could go out.
Dan and I had some delicious food at Olive Garden. Mmm... carb loading!
Afterward we spent the evening checking out the sights of Art Prize. It was a great evening!
